At least you know exactly where you will be in 2 hours...

Martin behind the wheel on the road to Death Valley. Appropriate destination considering the driver.

The landscape through this dessert is surprisingly varying. These are just one of many odd rock formations.

Ice fishing in a dessert? This is Badwater Basin from a far. A large basin filled with salt and is the lowest point in North America (86 meters below sea level).

You can see the sign for where the sea level is, way up there

Even though water is extremely scarce, there are a couple of puddles with extreme high salt content. In it lives some worms, and apparently this is the only place on earth they live. Talk about odd place to decide to live.

The entire lake is filled with salt and it gives the impression of ice. We had a comparatively mild summer this year so temperatures did not go above 35C on this day.

Feels odd being there without an ice drill

Death Valley is a strange place. This is on the very end of Badwater and it's an area called Devils Golf Course. The terrain here is not exactly suitable for sport cars, nor Swedes with flip flops...

Basically, stay away from Death Valley. But if you can't, bring shit loads of water.

Some Italians are afraid of heights, and this specific specimen decided that the car is more pleasant than the view from Padre Crowley Point.

Right outside Big Pine, a few hours north of Death Valley. Odd to see snow on the same day

We got to Mono Lake right before sunset. It is a bit darker but you can still see the lake. A very bizarre body of water that lacks an outlet, causing the lake to have high concentrations of acids and minerals.

It was windy and cold by the now closed down visitor center. Me and Elisa are gunning for the car.

Gorgeous shoreline, isn't?

As we saw in Badwater, even in the harshest of waters there is life. Here, a seagull is stomping the ground to grab worms.
