On our way up north to new things to see, we discovered these elks, grazing right next to the road.
Since this is indian territory, many casinos are popping up like muchrooms. Others larger than others. This one for an example is not bigger than a circus tent. Wonder how the security is there. And wonder what the natives do to you if they catch you cheating....
We stopped at Trinity river along the way.Â

Our initial plan was not to go far at all. However, the closer the Oregon border we came, the easier it was to decide to just go all the way.Here is good ol' MockY under the Oregon sign.
On the way back, right before sunset, we found this awesome resting area located way up in the mountains.
And here it is...the sunset.
This is from the trip home, going east on highway 299. Don't know if it is a highway however since it was like driving in Norway. Beautiful as heck, but not the road of choice if you are in a hurry.
This is a large outdoor charcoal plant in action. Notice the large amount of huge logs.
