The rose area where everything grows wild

Another view of partly the rose area and the rest of the patch

Besides the fact that I cut the roses a couple of months prior, not much has been done with this area. It's an obvious eyesore

All but 2 rose bushes has been taken out, the dirt levelled, and the sod is starting to come off

More sod has been removed. This patch turned out to be much harder to work with than the other two

All sod is out, and the trench is almost finished

Mia loved being out, digging in the dirt

The creation of the mound (to the left of Mia) had to halt at times when Mia decided to help in that very spot

Due to the angle of the shot, the mound that I created can barely be spotted

The weed guard is down and I have started to position some of the bigger rocks

To place rocks along a bare trench with the intent of creating a natural occurring stream, was much much harder that I could possibly have imagined. Design is not my forte so this involved plenty of moving rocks around for a few days

Slowly but steady, the stream is appearing

Next step was to gather plants to set along the creek and decide a placement for them

Once the plants were in, I simply covered the area with bark to get a finished look. Here, the right side is completed

I'm digging for the last set of plants, proving it all did not magically appeared
